Instructor Larry Narvaez and his wife spent the morning in Altus, Oklahoma at the request of Judge Rafe Hall, the Presiding District Judge for Jackson County, OK. Judge Hall invited them to demonstrate the voice court reporting method to his judges, district attorney and court personnel. They were honored to demonstrate and field questions about this proven court reporting method new to Oklahoma. Shout out to Judge Hall’s secretary, Teresa Anderson, who made this happen.
Voice writing for court reporting was approved by the Oklahoma Supreme Court in June 2025. Through their order, steno and voice reporters can now be used in our courts and deposition rooms. Oklahoma College of Court Reporting is the only program in Oklahoma approved to train voice writers at this time. Our next new class for voice reporter training is January 12, 2026. Come join this new and exciting training that takes 9 months!
